In OX2 Finland we are now looking for a Construction Project Manager – BESS to lead utility-scale energy storage projects from Financial Close to Commercial Operation (COD) and final delivery.
The role
You will take full ownership of BESS project execution—ensuring delivery on time, budget, quality, and safety. This is a hands-on leadership role at the center of complex, high-impact projects. You will report directly to the Head of Construction in Finland.
You will be responsible for:
- HSSE performance and safety culture
- Budget (CAPEX) and cost control
- Project schedule and milestones
- Quality, contracts, and compliance
- Stakeholder coordination and risk management
You’ll act as the main interface between internal teams, contractors, suppliers, authorities, and clients.
Key responsibilities
Safety & Quality
- Drive HSSE standards across all activities
- Ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements
- Oversee quality assurance and reporting
Project Delivery
- Lead BESS projects from ready-to-build to COD
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Ensure smooth handovers across project phases
Budget, Schedule & Risk
- Manage timelines, costs, and forecasting
- Identify and mitigate risks
- Report progress and deviations
Contracts & Stakeholders
- Support contract negotiation and execution
- Manage interfaces between contractors
- Represent OX2 toward external stakeholders
Technical Coordination
- Support technical topics (BESS, grid, construction)
- Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams
- Contribute to project close-out and warranties
Qualifications
The right person for this position has strong experience in construction/project management (energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects)
- Experience in BESS, solar, or wind is a plus
- Solid understanding of contracts, construction execution, and delivery
- Ability to manage complex stakeholders and contractors
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commercial mindset and negotiation skills
- Structured, solution-oriented, and resilient
- Fluent in English (Finnish is considered a plus)
