Few topics are more decisive for the future of renewable energy than grid capacity and we are now looking or a Grid Connection Manager. In this role, you will be at the centre of solving one of the industry's biggest challenges, securing the infrastructure required to bring new renewable generation to the grid.
About the role
Grid access is one of the most critical factors determining whether a renewable energy project succeeds.
As Grid Connection Manager, you will own grid-related activities across a portfolio of wind, solar, energy storage projects and hybrid solutions. You will define connection strategies, manage relationships with transmission and distribution system operators, lead technical discussions and support investment decisions through robust technical and commercial evaluations.
You will work closely with Development Managers, Engineering, Transactions, and Construction teams, acting as the subject matter expert for grid-related matters.
The major spoken and written language is Swedish.
What you'll do
Shape project strategy from day one

Assess grid-connection related opportunities and risks during acquisitions and due diligence processes

Evaluate existing grid agreements and connection rights

Analyse connection alternatives, costs, timelines and permitting implications

Support investment decisions with technical and commercial recommendations
Lead grid development activities

Develop and execute grid connection strategies for renewable energy projects

Manage grid connection applications and negotiations with system operators
-
Lead communication with TSOs, DSOs and regulatory stakeholders

Coordinate technical meetings and manage external consultants
-
Secure connection agreements and ensure alignment with project development plans
Drive technical excellence

Develop cost-optimised grid solutions covering internal networks, substations and external grid connections

Review power system studies and technical designs

Support electrical negotiations with turbine suppliers, EPC contractors and Balance of Plant providers

Ensure technical solutions meet regulatory, operational and commercial requirements
Support delivery and operations

Cooperate within project teams to ensure that the connection is in line with technical solutions, time plan and financials.

Support the Construction team with strategic support and changes in connection agreements. Provide specialist expertise to operational assets when required
Who you are
You combine commercial understanding and stakeholder management skills with technical expertise. Depending on your expertise the role is more tec or business but tech is not your primary focus.
We believe you bring:

Degree in Electrical- or Energy systems Engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems or high-voltage infrastructure

Experience working with grid connection processes for renewable energy projects, utilities, system operators or engineering consultancies

Insight in tariff construction and underlaying mechanisms

Strong understanding of transmission and distribution networks

Knowledge of grid legislation, permitting frameworks and regulatory requirements

Experience managing external stakeholders and technical consultants

Ability to translate complex technical challenges into business decisions

Experience within wind, solar, battery storage or broader power infrastructure is highly valued.
- Fluency in both English and Swedish is a must
