JOB SUMMARY
The candidate in this role will undertake all design and engineering activities of utility-scale wind, battery energy storage and solar projects, from development through to operations, covering full engineering scope from concept to detailed design and procurement
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as Engineering Manager for the Muswellbrook PV + BESS hybrid project (MUS) during the construction phase

- Management of the third-party Owner’s Engineer
- Design management/coordination and decision-making, particularly at the interfaces between contractors
- Technical interface coordination, and related advice to the project manager
- Technical advice to the project manager in relation to contractual variations and disagreements
- Technical decision making at project completion/handover to operations, and related advice to the project manager and asset manager
- Technical support to the asset manager during the Defect Liability Period

- Develop construction-phase engineering practises (incl. adapting from existing OX2 examples) for MUS and future construction projects in Australia
- Facilitate consistency of construction phase engineering practises across projects in Australia, and in relation to global OX2 company practises
- Provide guidance and support capacity building of other engineers such that they can act as Engineering Managers on other construction-phase projects
- Provide construction phase engineering input into development-phase projects on request
- Provide support to asset management (TCM) team on request
QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering qualification that is recognised by Engineers Australia. Electrical engineering preferred, but others accepted if strong in other criteria
- Minimum 10 years experience in engineering detailed design, construction or operations
- Minimum 5 years experience at an EPC Contractor or owner/operator of wind, solar or BESS assets
- Experience leading, coordinating or managing engineering activities during the construction phase in Australia
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and international reference standards applicable to Wind, BESS, Solar and associated equipment and systems shall be highly regarded
- A working knowledge of Environmental and Health and Safety legislative requirements
- Experience working collaboratively and communicating effectively within a multi-disciplinary team (i.e. not just engineers)
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills in Australia
- Must be self-motivated, confident to make decisions within agreed remit and consistent in seeking support from others in areas outside of remit and expertise
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Projects, industry standard document management systems and MS suite required
- Driver’s license required.
LOCATION
This position will be based in Melbourne. Some adhoc travel to our project locations may be required from time to time.
