About OX2
At OX2, we accelerate access to renewable energy. As one of Europe's leading renewable energy companies, backed by EQT, we develop, construct, own and manage renewable energy assets across multiple markets. Through long-term ownership and a pioneering mindset, we create lasting value for society, investors and future generations.
About the role
OX2 is building a Global Project Datahub: a centrally owned, historised data layer connecting all datasources of the digital infrastructure in one governed backbone that serves as the source of truth. As Head of Data & Analytics, you will own this product end to end – you are its “face” to the organization, its main advocate, the person who turns fragmented data across markets into something people trust and want to use, and the person who drives jointly with Senior Management the cultural shift to a data driven company.
This is a newly created role and a newly created team at the centre of OX2's data ambition. You will set the roadmap and priorities, and build the governance and data quality culture that starts at the point where data is created – not where it is reported. You will lead a small core team (a Senior Data Engineer and a Pipeline & Portfolio Analyst, which are being hired at the moment as well) and work closely with colleagues from the entire value chain across all markets, product managers of the digital landscape, the wider digital team (technical infrastructure and master data governance).
You won’t inherit someone else’s broken dashboards or legacy decisions. You get a blank canvas, real executive mandate, and budget already secured, to define what “good” looks like for data at OX2 from day one. Most data roles ask you to fix what exists. This one asks you to build it. And unlike your next fintech offer, the data you’re working with maps on renewable energy projects that are actually getting built.
Success in this role looks like: a growing, governed data foundation, BI platform and Analytics landscape that people actually use; a shared, unambiguous language for how OX2 talks about its projects; and an organization that spends less time assembling and validating data and more time acting on it.
Key responsibilities
-
Product ownership & roadmap: Own the roadmap, use-case prioritization and phased build-out of the Global Project Datahub, starting from a lean minimal viable product and scaling towards a full platform serving BI, analytics, automation and AI use cases.
-
Governance & definitions: Own and continuously develop OX2's data definitions catalogue, ensuring the same terms are understood the same way across markets, tools and functions.
-
Data quality culture: Drive a clear data RACI across the organization, mapping data responsibility onto existing roles (Project Responsible, Country Manager) rather than creating a parallel structure; own the data quality reporting that makes issues visible, measurable and actionable at the source.
-
Change management & communication: Build organizational understanding of “why” the datahub matters, run stakeholder communication and training, and secure genuine engagement from Country teams, function heads and senior management.
-
Team leadership: Manage and grow the core Datahub team, including a Senior Data Engineer and a Pipeline & Portfolio Analyst, and coordinate closely with Digital's technical owner and governance lead.
About you
You are someone who can hold a big, cross-functional vision and also get into the detail of how a data definition actually plays out in a country team's daily work. You are equally comfortable in a steering committee and in a one-on-one conversation persuading a project manager why data quality matters to them personally.
We believe you have:
-
Solid experience (we'd estimate around 7+ years, though we care more about substance than years) in business/portfolio controlling, finance business partnering, asset management, investment analysis, or data/BI product ownership within a complex, multi-country organization.
-
Experience in any role in the renewable energy projects value chain is a strong plus
-
A relevant degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Informatics or a related field.
-
A track record of owning something end to end – a product, a process, or a function – from vision through adoption, including influencing stakeholders who do not report to you.
-
The ability to speak both business and technical language, bridging Portfolio Management & Planning and Digital/data engineering without needing to be a coder yourself.
-
Hands on experience in Data Engineering or Data Analytics with knowledge of Microsoft Azure Infrastructure is considered a strong plus.
-
Comfort building on “moving foundations” – iterating while source systems and processes are still evolving and help to create clarity, rather than waiting for perfect conditions.
-
A genuine service mentality: you see country, project, and asset management teams as customers of the data, not just providers of it.
-
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in English
