About OX2

At OX2, we accelerate access to renewable energy. As one of Europe's leading renewable energy companies, backed by EQT, we develop, construct, own and manage renewable energy assets across multiple markets. Through long-term ownership and a pioneering mindset, we create lasting value for society, investors and future generations.

About the role

As Senior Data Engineer, you will be the technical owner of OX2's Global Project Datahub – the centrally owned, historised data layer that connects the digital infrastructure, market intelligence and other sources into one governed data backbone on Microsoft Fabric. This is a newly created role at the center of OX2's data ambition, reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, working in a team with a Pipeline and Portfolio Analyst, who are both currently being recruited. The team sits in the Portfolio Management & Planning department..

You will take the platform from a lean minimal viable product to a fully built datahub covering historization, monthly data freezes, and a widening set of source systems. You will work in close partnership with the Head of Data & Analytics, who owns product priorities and the transformation journey, a Pipeline & Portfolio Analyst who brings requirements from the business side, and the Digital Team’s Architect and Master Data Governance team, who own the wider Fabric infrastructure and data standards.

This is a hands-on build role with real architectural ownership: you decide how the data model, pipelines and quality checks are built, and you will see the platform grow from prototype to production.

Key responsibilities

  • Data modelling & historization: Design and build the data model supporting both “live” (dynamic, continuously updated) and “frozen” (monthly, point-in-time) data, with a fully historized record for trend and assumption analysis over time.

  • Pipeline development: Design, build and maintain ingestion pipelines on Microsoft Fabric from IFS (Finance and Project modules), OneStream, project financial models (currently Excel), market intelligence data, operational data and additional sources such as FX, interest rate and valuation assumptions.

  • Data quality framework: Develop a data quality framework from a technical perspective and lead the implementation to rranslate the data definitions catalogue into enforceable checks, build automated data quality reports, and design pipelines that surface issues at the source rather than in the reporting layer.

  • Documentation & scalability: Ensure documentation of data models, pipelines and definitions by setting documentation standards thoroughly, so the platform can scale beyond two engineers and support a smooth ramp-up of technical consultants during the acceleration phase.

  • Architecture & standards: Work with Digital's Architect on governance, security and integration standards, designing a hub-based architecture that avoids the exponential complexity of point-to-point integrations as new systems are added.

About you

You enjoy building a data platform from first principles, and you care as much about it being usable and trusted as about it being technically elegant. We believe you have:

  • Solid, hands-on experience (we'd estimate around 6+ years) as a Data Engineer or similar, ideally including at least one end-to-end build of a central data platform, warehouse or lakehouse.

  • Experience in (Renewable) Energy is a strong plus

  • Practical expertise with Microsoft Fabric (or a comparable modern cloud data stack such as Azure Synapse or Databricks), including pipelines, lakehouse/warehouse architecture and data modelling.

  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python for data transformation, quality checks and automation.

  • Experience building and maintaining Power BI datasets and reports at scale.

  • Experience integrating ERP or EPM systems (e.g. IFS, OneStream, SAP or similar) is a strong plus.

  • Understanding of data governance and historization/versioning patterns (e.g. slowly changing dimensions) and how to design for both live and point-in-time (frozen) reporting.

  • A pragmatic mindset: you build stable, automated connections rather than patch things with manual workarounds or copy-paste.

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus.
